12th Blogaversary + Giveaway!

I can’t believe it’s been 12 years since I started my blog.  Check out my first post HERE.  It makes me cringe but also makes me realize how things have changed.  Blogging has definitely taken a different route in terms of social media.  I still try to visit blogs, I still use Feedly.  I’m not going to lie, it’s been a struggle for me to keep up with social media in general.   I love being a part of the paper crafting community so I do the best that I can.
I’d love to hear from you.  What motivates you to visit blogs or have you given up on them?  I’d like to say that I’ll keep my blog for as long as I can.  It’s definitely my journal of sorts and although I’ve been posting my personal pics on FB + IG, I know now that I need to start adding them here too.

Here are just a few of my favorites from over the years starting with 2008 [left to right]:

Honestly I could have picked a caffeinated design for each year but I thought it would be better to mix things up a bit.

I’m doing a bit of a giveaway!  If you follow me on IG, you know that I regularly do Crafty Destash Giveaways.

How about a $50 Gift Certificate to Doodlebugs?  If you are an international it’s £50.00 Gift Card to Seven Hills Crafts.

I’m going to have you do a bit of work for the shopping spree!  In order to be eligible,
please link up your first blog post [or IG, flickr, SCS…you name it]. No social media
account?  Let me know why you haven’t taken the plunge.

Commenting open until Saturday, November 9th at 7 am pacific’ish.  MAKE SURE
your contact email is associated with your profile.  All NO-REPLY Blogger comments
[see side bar] without email addresses in the comments will be disqualified.   I want
this to be fun for everyone [including me!], I don’t want to hunt down the winner,

  1. It's hard to keep up with social media and have a blog, I agree. I do like the blog because often it has more details on how the card was made and it's fun to go back and see how awful some of my creations have been! hahaha! Well, here's the link to my first blog post…don't judge me! It's from 2015 (haven't been at this too long) and it's very short and has 1….yes, 1 comment – from my daughter! hahaha! Thanks for doing this, too fun!!!

  2. Happy Blogaversary!!!! Yes, it is so hard to keep up with the blog/facebook, I have an IG account so I can comment, but honestly, I have no idea how to post on there or navigate around, lol. Life has taken me in many directions and my blogging has been on again/off again, but it was nice to come back to it.

  3. Congrats on your 12th year blogging. I do still like to read blogs. I’m on Instagram and FB but find them a little impersonal. I don’t feel the need to share every aspect of my life, nor do I have time to look at every aspect of everyone else’s lives. I can barely keep up with my kids, grandkids, extended family and friends. Anyway, I’ve enjoyed Reading your blogposts through the years. Here’s a link to my first blogpost-not very exciting https://littlescrapsoflucy.blogspot.com/2012/10/to-blog-or-not-to-blog.html?m=1

  4. You have given us 12 years of delightful creativity, thank you!!! I started posting on Splitcoast and haven't kept it up since starting my blog. I wish I had, it's a wonderful site. My first SSC post was in 2008: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/974307?&cat=500&ppuser=84294 Got the courage to start a blog in 2014: https://sharpnotesbysheryl.blogspot.com/2014/05/ I blog mainly as an easy way to participate in blog hops and post Online Card Class cards. Thanks for sharing, Amy!

  5. Congratulations on 12yrs! I admit it social media has made it easier to post quickly on FB or IG or Twitter or Snap Chat, but I still like to visit blogs for the details. The whole story behind the project, the emotion that went into the creation, the tutorials and supplies. And you just don't get that from the instant posts elsewhere, those are just little snap shots. I can relate with how far we've come…my blog is only 5yrs old…but here is my first post with a project in it's content: https://mykraftkloset.weebly.com/blog/denver-bronco-birthday-card

Thanks for all you do with the coffee hops and thanks for the constant inspiration!

  6. Congratulations, Amy! Way to go on 12 years of blogging! I enjoyed looking at your old cards! I've only been at it for just over 6 years and enjoying every moment! I hear you on the Social Media – there aren't enough hours in the day! I also have IG, Twitter, and FB, but rarely use them – I guess I'm old school because I prefer my blog. I've got lots of blog friends and we enjoy visiting each other.

I searched way back on my blog to come up with my very first post – it's definitely cringe-worthy – but, hey, we all had to start somewhere! Here it is:

Thanks for the awesome giveaway! I wish you many more years on your blog and I hope you definitely keep it!

  7. Congrats Amy! I love reading blogs… I prefer to see the "How tos" on blogs vs. You Tube…. I know you know this but I love adding family pictures to my blog posts so to me my blog is like a scrapbook…I used to scrapbook everything but now I am obsessed with making cards so it's a way to combine the two passions… here is my first post…. it was during the 30 Day Coloring Challenge and you can see my ink blending is not great https://www.instagram.com/p/BjviV2KF6AO/

Thanks for the chance! Love you and your blog!

  8. CONGRATULAIONS Amy! 12 years is quite a long time in BlogLand 🙂 Love the trip back in time with your card collection.
