Thank you to my friends at Spellbinders for sending me some products to play with. Here’s how I was inspired today:

Today’s project features the following NEW Spellbinders product:
- Field Notes 3D embossing Folder from the Field Notes Collection
I also used these Spellbinder products:
- Woodland Tales Fern | die
- Propagation Garden Sentiments | stamp + die
- Holding Your Heart Sentiments | Betterpress plates + dies
- Rainforest Cardstock | Rainbow Hues Assortment
- Porcelain BetterPress | A2 Cotton Card Panels
- BetterPress Black | ink
I wanted to show the embossing folder used in a couple of different ways.

The gorgeous 3D embossing folder has so many details. For this first card I used a watercolor panel and ran it through my Spellbinders Platinum 6. I then used blending brushes to blend in the following Distress Oxides:
- Shabby Shutters
- Twisted Citron
- Mowed Lawn
The sentiment is from the Propagation Garden Sentiments | stamp + die.

My second project uses the embossing folder in the traditional way, with white cardstock, plain. I added the following other Spellbinder products:
- Woodland Tales Fern | die
- Holding Your Heart Sentiments | Betterpress plates + dies
- Rainforest Cardstock | Rainbow Hues Assortment
- Porcelain BetterPress | A2 Cotton Card Panels
- BetterPress Black | ink
The clean + simple design makes my crafty heart happy.
TIP: Have you tried out the BetterPress system yet? I’ll be the first to say that I’ve always struggled with the glimmer and foiling. I was gifted the BetterPress System and it was easy from the very first project.

I’ve been dabbling in mixed media a bit more and this technique uses the distress oxides being applied directly onto the embossing folder and then spritzed with water. My panel is watercolor paper and it is longer than an A2 so that I could include more of the design. Check out this Simon Hurley YouTube. I added the following other Spellbinder products:
- Holding Your Heart Sentiments | Betterpress plates + dies
- Porcelain BetterPress | A2 Cotton Card Panels
- BetterPress Black | ink
I dried the panel with my heat tool and followed up with inking the edges with the coordinating distress oxides:
- Shabby Shutters
- Twisted Citron
- Mowed Lawn
