In an attempt to motivate myself to design non-caffeinated holiday cards, I’ve started this new feature, Merry & Bright Monday. Every 2nd + 4th Monday I’ll share a holiday design. Here’s how I was inspired today:

This card trio features the following products by Waffle Flower Crafts:
- Sketched Poinsettia Bundle | stamp, die + stencil
- Dashed Snowflake | panel die
- Oversized Postage | matching die
I stamped the poinsettias on watercolor paper with VersaFine Black Onyx ink. I used blending brushes with the following inks:
- Saltwater Taffy | distress oxide
- Abandoned Coral | distress oxide
- Tumbled Glass | distress oxide
- Oceanside | Concord & 9th

I actually ruined my first card because the blending brush had other ink and the versafine hadn’t dried completely. I always blend on my Grip Mat and I generally use watercolor paper with blending brushes. Rather than use ink for the poinsettia centers, I used gold glitter paper.
Here’s an earlier version I did using this same set:

My choice of Oceanside for the base was inspired by THIS card by Nina Yang.
