Sketched Hawthorn + 6×6 Grip Mat | Waffle Flower

Thanks to my friends at Waffle Flower for sending me their new 6×6 Grip Mat to try out! They also sent me other goodies that I’m featuring in today’s post. Here’s how I was inspired:

You’ve probably been seeing all the posts about Waffle Flowers new Grip Mats. They are this genius product line that works to gently hold your cardstock in place while you craft. It is made of high-quality photopolymer, think of your photopolymer stamps. It contains a natural stickiness so that you don’t need to use washi tape or magnets.

I used the Grip mat to color in the Sketched Hawthorn. Waffle Flower sent me the bundle that includes:

• Sketched Hawthorn Stamp Set
• Sketched Hawthorn Matching Die
• Sketched Hawthorn Foil Plate
• Sketched Hawthorn Coloring Stencil

I used various inks and blending brushes to color in the image. It’s important to use sticky notes to block out portions of the stencil that you aren’t working with. I did not die cut the image prior to the stencil work.

After my first session of stencil work, I went ahead and die cut the bloom. You can easily go back to the Grip Mat in the event you missed any stenciling. Ask me how I know [chuckle].

I added a layer to my project that features the gorgeous Tiny Diamonds Foil Plate. It’s been hot foiled with Glimmer Silver Holographic Speckle. The sentiment is from the Subsentiments Gift Diecut. I love these diecut sentiments. All you have to do is clip and adhere.
