I’m finishing up the week with my final project using the Mini May Release. A big THANK YOU to Lawn Fawn for sending me some goodies. I’m super grateful for this opportunity!
Here’s how I was inspired:
This project…I made this card over a couple different times. First up, here are the Lawn Fawn products I combined:
- Embroidery Hoop Star Add-On | die
- Embroidery Hoop | die*
- So Jelly | stamp*
- Skinny Stripes | stencils*
This is when I tell you that I put my ONE embroidery needle in a ‘really good place’. I had to race to the store to get another one:
I found a pack of neon floss! Originally, the black floss I used on the Star was the purple [in the photo]. I didn’t like it so I took it out and did the black.
My original design had stamping on the background, I used the Lots of Stars Background Stencil, covering the entire background with 4 different neon ink pads. Oy, too much! Then I just did a smidge on the lower panel:
I REALLY struggled with the photography of the neon ink and I wasn’t happy with it. So I replaced the stamping with the stencil work. This is when I ended up having to do the stencil work 3 times. I was really persistently working through everything because I really wanted to finish up the week with the Embroidery Hoop Star Add-On.
I love the contrast of the gingham. The sentiment? I had to do that one a couple times too! It uses super old hot pink embossing powder.
WHEW. I truly believe in crafting with what makes you happy. I’m so glad that I powered on through all my mishaps. What looks like a clean + simple card wasn’t a slam dunk for me.

Well done on persevering Amy – the result is stunning!! I don’t enjoy it all that much when a card ‘fights’ me like that, but I keep going as I am too miserly to waste my supplies, although a few have seen the dust bin!
Blessings
Maxine
